The Snap Communications team is responsible for conveying Snap’s mission, vision and values to core audiences within our community, which include Snapchatters, advertising partners, content partners, creators, investors, policymakers,consumers and Snap team members.
This passionate team works hard to show the world what makes Snapchat the best platform for communication and storytelling, and to ensure the narratives about the company, its people, and its products are accurate and compelling.
We’re looking for a Head of Communications, UK, to join our Communications team on a fixed term contract for 14 months to cover a period of maternity leave in our team.
What you’ll do:
Be a key member of Snap’s UK leadership team, develop and drive Snap’s communications strategy across the UK in support of our business growth and product momentum.
Manage Snap’s UK executive leadership communications, including supporting the UK General Manager with activity including narrative development, media engagement, speaking opportunities and industry presentations - working closely with cross-functional partners including the Marketing, Public Policy, Talent Partnerships and Global Brand Experience teams.
Manage external agencies to support day-to-day inquiries, special projects, and events across consumer, corporate and b2b communications.
Develop written materials, including story pitches, messaging guidelines, press releases, Q&As, presentations and speeches. Lead issues and crisis management, corporate reputation initiatives, consumer campaigns and our monetisation narrative for the UK market.
Partner with our business, legal and policy teams to articulate our work to support the safety, privacy, and wellbeing of Snapchat users.
Manage three direct reports across communications and comms operations, overseeing their day to day activity and nurturing their careers.
Partner with our EMEA and Global product and marketing teams to launch global and localised products, features, and campaigns.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong strategic capabilities and proven ability to develop proactive communications strategies that drive measurable results.
Adept at corporate affairs, issues management, and consumer comms - including going beyond media relations to reach our audiences.
Natural campaigning mindset: proven capacity to shape and promote corporate identity and build brand love.
Demonstrated ability to work calmly and maintain good judgement in fast-paced, high-stakes environments, as well as the ability to escalate appropriately.
Ability to work with colleagues in different countries and understand cultural differences. Track record of managing big teams and building new organisations across multiple regions. A passion for making a positive impact on the world.
BS/BA degree or equivalent years of experience.
10+ Years Extensive experience in communications
