Purpose of the Role
The Managing Partner for Retail Media Monetisation will be the go-to expert on the Retail Media Network (RMN), leading the strategic management of RMN engagements with clients and serving as part of the growth team for New Stream Media. You will serve as the central hub for collaboration and retail media expertise across the practice areas, including senior-level colleagues at dentsu, and lead decision-making to drive profitable innovation on behalf of your RMN client. You will work directly with senior-level business leaders at your RMN client, in an embedded team model.
You will translate media-led strategies into actionable business insights for your Retail Media Network client. You will be responsible for delivering New Stream Assessments, client Monetisation strategies and go-to-market strategy, roadmap and initiative planning, innovation planning, organisational ways of working design, and B2B2C strategy. You will contribute to New Stream Media’s product and solution development and business strategy. This is an ideal position for someone with experience in the Retail Media Network, eRetail, and/or consumer packaged goods. You will report to the Head of New Stream Media.
New Stream Media is Dentsu’s specialty retail media practice, purpose-built for customers building, scaling, and managing retail media network (RMN) businesses. We are a services-based business that provides our RMN clients teams in media sales, account management, media planning and activation, audience strategy and analytics, creative, and billing. We are flexible in our operating models with clients – staffing embedded in-house teams as well as in strategic consultation.
Key Responsibilities
- Orchestrate the New Stream Media assessments utilising the business's skilled resources.
- Lead the development and execution of market strategies for eRetail channels, with a keen understanding of B2B2C market dynamics in retail media
- Own and manage monetisation tools for your retail media network client like a rate card, margin tracking, and business case forecasting
- Develop strategic roadmaps and test plans, orchestrating across all functional groups to ensure holistic management and delivery
- Translate objectives from client and account leadership into strategy and tactics for eRetail channels.
- Demonstrate eRetail thought leadership by developing and delivering client-facing materials, such as presentations, Point of Views, business cases, and playbooks.
- Work with Retail Media Network client teams to identify and understand their needs, campaign performance, and opportunities to grow the New Stream Media relationship.
- Monitor and share industry news, online marketing trends, industry tools, and internal cross-team insights
- Support growth / sales efforts for New Stream Media
- Consult with individual capability teams to ensure best practices are being used and to brainstorm new approaches to achieving client goals
- Mastery of all Campaign Management and Planning & Optimization functional responsibilities
- Deliver against functional responsibilities in a strategic and self-guided manner for client/Media programs
- Deliver consultative messaging (both written and verbal) to senior leaders in an articulate and strategic manner
Qualifications + Skills
- Proven experience within digital media agency function and/or digital media vendor/ad technology platform with a focus on eRetail, Retail Media Networks, or CPG
- Past proficiency within Paid Social Platforms (Facebook/Instagram Power Editor, Twitter, Pinterest, Snapchat, LinkedIn Ads)
- Past proficiency within DSPs to run Video & Display (Google's DV360, MediaMath, Amazon DSP, TTD)
- Ideal to have in-platform execution / working knowledge in retailers – retail media networks; data tools like Live ramp, DSP, and retail media platforms like Criteo, Citrix, and Osmos.
- Experience with all facets of eRetail channels: retail, content, media, customer journeys and platform nuances
- Proficient user of digital ad trafficking tools
- Digital media strategy and plan development experience
- Experience against several media buying strategies: self-service, managed buyer, and partner negotiations
- Ability to draw conclusions and devise strategic recommendations based on data analysis and findings
- A desire to "change the game" and think outside of the box with enthusiasm for the future of eRetail/Retail Media Networks and building that future with New Stream Media
- Ability to think strategically and translate to tactical and actionable deliverables for your team
- Client management, consultative selling skills, and the ability to interact at all levels of management, including the executive level, to advocate and influence direction
