An Interview With Dana Sopah, Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist at Teads

An interview with By Dana Sopah, Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist at Teads Published on September 11

Tell us your career path before you were in TA

Before stepping into talent acquisition, I had quite a diverse journey. I started in aviation as a flight attendant, which taught me resilience, adaptability, and how to connect with people from all walks of life. I later moved into PR, office operations, and event management, and eventually joined a recruitment agency as an Office Manager before transitioning into a 360 consultant role. That’s where I discovered how much I enjoyed recruitment and how naturally it aligned with my skills, which eventually led me to Teads.

All those experiences gave me a strong foundation in understanding how businesses grow, what makes teams work, and the challenges leaders face. They shaped how I approach talent acquisition today: not just filling a vacancy, but truly understanding the bigger picture of people, culture, and business impact.

From your personal experience what's the best thing about being in talent acquisition?

For me, the best part is influence. We’re not just filling jobs; we’re shaping careers, building teams, and directly impacting business outcomes. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about connecting the right person to the right role and then seeing both the individual and company thrive. Beyond that, I enjoy being a partner to hiring managers, helping them redefine what great talent looks like and how to attract it, while also acting as a career coach to candidates who are navigating their next steps. I see my role as balancing both sides equally and fairly, making sure the right match benefits everyone involved.

Since you've been in TA, how have you seen it change?

The role of TA has become far more strategic. It used to be about processing applications and scheduling interviews. Now, it’s about data, branding, and experience. Metrics like time-to-fill and pass-through rates matter, but so do candidate experience scores and hiring manager satisfaction. TA today is at the intersection of marketing, analytics, and consulting, which makes it both challenging and exciting.

How do you see AI impacting the future of talent acquisition?

AI is already reshaping the field. It can automate repetitive tasks like sourcing, scheduling, or initial screening, which gives recruiters more bandwidth to focus on strategy and relationship-building. But beyond efficiency, I see AI becoming a partner in decision-making; helping us analyze patterns, predict hiring needs, and remove unconscious bias if used responsibly. I don’t see AI replacing recruiters; rather, it will elevate our role into more of a talent advisor and strategist.

What advice would you give to job seekers today?

Don’t just apply, position yourself. Tailor your CV to show measurable impact, not just responsibilities. Use LinkedIn to tell your professional story and build visibility. And when you interview, remember it’s a two-way street: you’re also evaluating the company. The most successful candidates I meet are the ones who know their value and can communicate it clearly.

Tell us a little about the company you hire for and what makes it so great?

I recruit for Teads, one of the world’s leading adtech companies. What makes Teads unique is its global reach paired with a collaborative culture.
