An interview with By Omer Yaniv, Global Talent Acquisition EMEA LATAM at Appsflyer Published on November 20

Tell us your career path before you were in TA

Before stepping into Talent Acquisition, I spent a decade performing around the world as a dancer with Mayumana, an international percussion and dance group. I was the only Israeli in an international cast, which shaped who I am, it taught me how to connect with people from all cultures, read body language and energy, and work as part of a diverse, creative team.

After ten years on stage, my husband received an amazing opportunity at NYU, so we moved to New York City. That transition marked a complete shift for me, I started working as a procurement buyer at the Israeli Embassy, which introduced me to a more structured business environment and gave me hands-on experience in negotiation, operations, and global collaboration.

Across those chapters, performing on international stages and later representing Israel in a diplomatic setting, I discovered what truly drives me: working with people, building connections, and being part of something global. Moving into Talent Acquisition felt like the perfect next act, different stage, same passion for people.

From your personal experience what's the best thing about being in talent acquisition?

For me, it’s about creating real impact, both for the company and for people’s lives. I see recruitment as much more than filling roles. it’s about building long term partnerships, understanding business needs deeply, and helping individuals grow into their best professional selves. When I see someone I hired thriving years later -becoming a manager, leading a team, or finding their voice-it’s the most rewarding feeling. You get to be part of their story.

Since you've been in TA, how have you seen it change?

Talent Acquisition has evolved massively. It’s no longer just about sourcing, it’s about data, storytelling, and strategy. Recruiters today are brand ambassadors, market analysts, and advisors to leadership. At AppsFlyer, for instance, I’m a true partner to hiring managers and finance when it comes to headcount planning and regional talent strategy. The focus has shifted from speed to quality, experience, and alignment with company culture and that’s a change I’m proud to be part of.

How do you see AI impacting the future of talent acquisition?

AI is already reshaping our field, and I believe it’s just the beginning. Used wisely, it’s not here to replace recruiters but to enhance the human experience ,automating repetitive tasks so we can focus on meaningful interactions.

I’m personally very passionate about using AI to improve candidate experience, which is a topic close to my heart. For example, I’ve been working on a project that sends candidates personalized videos and interview insights automatically as they progress through stages. It’s about bringing warmth, transparency, and connection into what can often feel like a cold or automated process. I truly believe that technology and empathy together will define the future of recruitment.

What advice would you give to job seekers today?

Be proactive, curious and intentional. Don’t just apply, research, connect, and understand the company you want to join. Tailor your story and know what you bring to the table beyond your title. And don’t be discouraged by rejection; every “no” is feedback, not failure. The market is competitive, but authenticity always stands out. When you align your values with the company’s mission that’s where magic happens.

Tell us a little about the company you hire for and what makes it so great?

I hire for AppsFlyer, a global leader in marketing measurement and analytics —but what truly makes it great is the people and culture. There’s a genuine sense of trust, collaboration, and care here. We empower people to bring their full selves to work, to learn, to grow, and to make an impact. I’ve been at AppsFlyer for nearly six years, and I can say with confidence that it’s a place where talent doesn’t just join it evolves.
