Specialism: Ad Tech Consultant, AdOps Manager, Programmatic
Location: Mexico City / Remote
Actively Seeking: Lead roles for programmatic, yield & revenue optimization
How did you get into AdTech, and what do you specialise in today?
From starting as a trafficker 12 years ago and continue until becoming an ad monetization expert using different channels, integrations and ad servers
What types of opportunities are you exploring right now?
Lead or Head of ad monetization, programmatic etc
How has the job hunt in AdTech felt for you so far?
Hard, a lot roles are for the buy side (agencies) and they ask for agency experience but publisher experience usually understands the buy side perfectly
What’s been the biggest challenge for you?
To be considered among so many candidates, now AI searches for keywords and you need to have the right combination or don’t hear back
Which platforms or methods have helped you find opportunities?
LinkedIn, JobsInAdtech and contacts
What makes a job ad more attractive for you to apply for over another that doesn't?
The level or responsibility to match at least my current job
When reading a job description, what do you look for first?
I just look at the requirements and know I would like any role that matches my experience because I’ve worked on many sides of the business and there’s always new challenges I’m excited about
What signals tell you a company “gets” AdTech talent?
The requirements, when they mention more advanced ad tech tools and are very specific on buyside and sellside
Conversely - what instantly turns you off a job ad?
Being on-site from Monday to Friday
Have you noticed anything companies consistently do well — or poorly — in their hiring processes?
Poorly: Many companies focus on checking a list of requirements instead of identifying a candidate's potential. Strong people get filtered out just because they don't match every keyword.
Well: The best processes ask the right questions from the start. When interviews are focused and well designed, you don't need five or six rounds to know if someone is a good fit.
How important is speed of response when evaluating roles?
Very important, it can become very stressful when you’re so excited about the role and the company.
Are any industry trends influencing your career choices?
Yes, with so many ad tools out there it’s hard to understand what’s the best path to specialization, now there’s new advances like AI agents buying programmatic that are starting to get questionable, and being on top of it could be demanding.
What do companies often misunderstand about candidates in AdTech?
Our capabilities, we cannot have experience in every ad platform but it gets a point where it becomes very intuitive for us and we can figure out any new ad technology.
Why should top companies want to hire you?
I'm a problem solver with strong analytical skills, always looking to get to the root cause, very curious and creative with my solutions. In 12 years in programmatic advertising I've owned GAM infrastructure end to end, built and optimized SSP and header bidding stacks. I dig into the data, find what's actually broken, and fix it in a way that scales.
