Overview
The Media Director, Strategy & Planningwill lead digital media strategy and planning across a major fashion retail account, with a focus on performance-driven campaigns that deliver measurable business results. The ideal candidate has strong background in fashion and retail categories. This role requires a strategic thinker who can connect audience insights with media execution across channels such as social, display, video and search. They will also possess a knowledge of the retail media landscape and be able to connect brand media, retail media dollars and paid and unpaid channels to provide a holistic strategy.
Responsibilities
- Lead digital media strategy and planning across performance-focused retail campaigns, ensuring alignment with client business objectives.
- Partner with clients and internal teams to define performance goals, optimize channel mix, and identify new growth opportunities within retail and fashion categories.
- Translate data and insights into actionable strategies that drive sales, conversions, and customer engagement.
- Manage and mentor a team of media strategists and planners to deliver high-quality work and strategic recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with analytics, investment, and client leadership teams to ensure campaigns are optimized for ROI and business impact.
Qualifications
- 7–9+ years of experience leading digital media strategy and planning, ideally within an agency environment.
- Proven experience managing retail media buys across platforms such as Walmart Connect, Target Roundel, Amazon DSP, and other retail media networks.
- Background working with retail and/or fashion brands, with a strong understanding of seasonal trends and eCommerce dynamics.
- Deep knowledge of digital media channels, performance marketing, and lower-funnel tactics.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills with the ability to connect audience insights to media execution.
- Excellent client management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience leading teams in a fast-paced, collaborative agency or retail environment.

Compensation Range: $119,510 - $188,025. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met.
