Associate Director, eCommerce
Position Overview:
In the position of Associate Director, eCommerce, you will be a key leader within our Activation & Delivery team, spearheading a team focused on driving exceptional results for our clients through innovative commerce strategies. You will lead the development and execution of ecommerce marketing initiatives, working in close collaboration with major commerce media partners (Amazon, Walmart, Instacart, etc.) to accelerate growth for our clients and their brands. You will be directly accountable for the overall ecommerce strategy, activation, and performance, ensuring alignment with client business goals.
- Create, manage, and execute strategic commerce media plans to meet client performance goals.
- Mentor and coach commerce marketing professionals across multiple accounts, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Lead partnerships with various commerce media partners (Google, Amazon, Walmart, Criteo, Instacart, Loblaws and others), ensuring access to the latest opportunities and best practices.
- Lead team members across search and commerce, managing workflows, tasks and deliverables
- Create, present and gain client approval of campaign strategies and tactics.
- Work with clients to uncover business needs and objectives, build appropriate strategies and identify/implement services to help achieve client goals.
- Forecast, generate, and maximize revenue opportunities with clients.
- Continuously monitor, track, and analyze campaign performance, implementing data-driven optimizations to maximize client investment.
- Develop and nurture strong, long-term relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor and strategic partner.
- Identify and address potential client risks before they escalate, ensuring smooth and successful campaign execution.
- Meet client expectations with clear communication, organization of priorities and needs, and responsiveness.
- Demonstrate thought leadership by sharing insights and best practices with clients and the industry, positioning WPP Media as a leader in commerce media.
- Build on an existing level of commerce media expertise and develop a reputation for innovation and efficiency within WPP Media.
- Deliver effective analysis to support marketing recommendations, leveraging data to drive informed decision-making.
- Scope and develop new brands looking to meet their commerce goals within our client portfolio.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and developments in commerce marketing, digital marketing, consumer behaviour, generative AI, etc.
- Aid in creation of new business presentations, POVs, best practices and process documentation.
Your qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5+) years of paid media experience (Google, Meta, TikTok).
- Minimum of two (2+) year of ecommerce experience (Amazon, Criteo, Instacart, Walmart).
- Proven track record of successfully leading and mentoring teams in a multi-talent, inclusive environment, fostering collaboration and professional development by being able to educate teams on digital platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate strong client relationships, understand their business objectives, and translate them into effective e-commerce strategies.
- Extensive experience in developing and executing successful e-commerce marketing strategies and campaigns for leading brands, consistently achieving measurable business outcomes (e.g., increased sales, market share growth).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English (written and spoken). Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using Google Analytics, Amazon Analytics, and other relevant tools to extract insights and optimize campaign performance.
- Proficiency in bid management platforms such as SA360, PacVue, Perpetua, and/or Skai.
- High level of technical proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- Prior experience with programmatic advertising, particularly within an e-commerce context, is highly beneficial in this role.
- Amazon Certification, Facebook Blueprint, Google Search Professional Certification, and any other industry certifications are highly desirable.
- Prior experience working in a media agency environment, including managing media partner relationships, will contribute to success in this role.
