Role Summary and Impact
The Global Platform and Creator team at WPP Media drive business growth through a strategic earned, shared, owned and paid approach to platforms connecting community, culture and creators. We guide our clients on platforms through a strategic process that unlocks transformative growth. Our primary focus is community strategy, creators, influencers, social content and cultural strategy.
This role will function within the Applied Innovation and Platform Strategy team reporting into the Head of Platform & Creator Strategy. Working closely with our global platform partners and teams across the WPP network. This person is expected to ideate, design and build platform and creator programs for our top global clients.
Responsibilities
- Have a world class understanding of platform opportunities across owned, earned, shared & paid with the ability to navigate client conversations beyond ‘the feed’ across a brands ecosystem.
- Look left and right to build transformational growth opportunities with key partners across Commerce, Content, Culture and Applied Innovation
- Responsible for building out new, innovative, and exclusive platform partnerships for this global client.
- Develop and roll out new platform capabilities to with this global client with clear commercial model (including opportunities built with WPP partners)
- Work with all disciplines within WPP Media, but in particularly close collaboration with global client leadership team to operationalize and drive a culture of strategic platform excellence.
- Challenges the status quo, offering proactive solutions and thoughts, continually trying to improve upon processes and ways of working to drive team performance.
- Designs and delegates tasks to develop junior members of the team, infusing creativity and innovative thinking
- Build and maintain relationships with WPP and external agencies / partners (e.g. Ogilvy Social Lab, Burson, Obviously etc)
- Stay up to date on key cultural opportunities and trends across a range of categories and markets, driving the knowledge of the platform and creator strategy team across the wider business
- Support global growth goals by leading on pitches as required

The Ideal Candidate
- Strong strategic thinker with experience working in social, influencer or culture specialist agency
- World class expertise and previous activation experience with key community/social platforms (TikTok, Meta, Snap, YouTube, Pinterest etc)
- A strong capability to capture insights from observations or trends in platforms pertaining to society & culture and translating into platform strategies.
- A strong understanding of media agency environment and wider industry including key platform partners
- Outstanding communication, negotiation and organisational skills
- Excellent client relationship skills with the ability to communicate complexity across multiple geographies and cultures
- Insatiable curiosity on the future of platforms and world class knowledge of platform formats, features and opportunities
- Ability to collaborate with internal teams using a persuasive, professional and confident approach to all engagement
- Entrepreneurial with a self-starter mentality and reliability and responsibility for operating at this level within a specialist practice

- A strong presenter, comfortable with large and small groups
- Confident in managing multiple stakeholder relationships
- A team player who is comfortable with dealing with senior clients and colleagues around the world
- Strong attention to detail and outstanding organisational skills
- Able to multi-task and handle multiple projects at one time
- Excellent knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel, and beyond
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Foreign language is a bonus
- Public speaking experience is a bonus
