Overview of role
As a SEO Account Director, you will:
- Drive the SEO Strategy, delivering performance and growth for our clients.
- Oversee the delivery of client SEO campaigns to ensure best practice, innovation and excellence are displayed across all activity – inclusive of strategy, planning, implementation and reporting.
- Review key client-facing documentation, reports and presentations to approve them before the team send to clients.
- Produce strategic and insightful pieces of analysis which will define the long-term Organic strategies for our clients whilst capitalising on emerging technologies, trends and innovations which will give us the competitive edge.
- Use your SEO experience to ensure all team members are supported within their roles.
- Manager anddevelop team members and delegate of tasks accordingly.
- Actas a mentor to team members and ensure any training needs are recorded and met.
- Stay up to date with any industry changes and lead knowledge sharing sessions within your team.
Reporting of the role
You will be reporting to the SEO Director.

Responsibilities of the role
Business:
- Ensure that clients (as well as the team, wider business) are informed and educated about the performance of changes and tactics implemented by the team.
- Responsible for the management and assigning of client budgets as well as timely and accurate financial/billing activity (includes production of schedules and timesheet completion within the team).
- Ensuring SEO clients receive the best possible solutions for their requirements and budget levels.
- Working with client service teams and clients to devise strategies and approaches for SEO to deliver the best possible results – reviewed quarterly.
- Supporting new business through participation in RFP response documents and new business meetings where required.
- Celebrating successes within your team, the SEO Team and distributing these to the wider business on a regular basis. Working with the team to turn these into case studies and to identify and enter related awards where possible.
People:
- Managing a team of SEO Account Managers and Executives – ensuring workloads are manageable and reporting on staffing requirements to the SEO Director.
- Monitoring and helping to manage the workload of Executives and Assistants to ensure effective prioritisation of tasks is undertaken.
- Develop knowledge and skills of SEO Account Managers and Executives to make sure they’re evolving their skills and knowledge levels (via company provided training, online training, self-learning and mentoring).
- Ensuring all staff are aware of their responsibilities and requirements to complete their roles.
- Ensuring the team manage and delivering campaigns with a defined framework.
What you will need
- Excellent working knowledge of SEO including elements of technical SEO, on page optimisation and link building/analysis.
- Great interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with both clients and internal stakeholders as well as mentor and support staff.
- Ability to brief other teams effectively, primarily content, Digital PR & CRO.
- Diligence in meeting agreed timescales & providing approved deliverables.
- A desire and willingness to get the job done to the highest levels.
- Ability to manage own workload and prioritise tasks based on client demands.
- Ability to pre-empt problems and be pro-active in producing solutions
- Commercial understanding and able to put together scopes of work and answer client briefs.
