Role Summary and Impact
The SVP of MM&D Commercial, reporting into the EVP is a pivotal role within WPP Media UK, and will have the responsibility to lead and execute the strategy and activation of the commercial hub driving deeper partnerships across retail, traditional media, data and tech and growth markets, finding new opportunities for WPP Media and our clients and our solutions. Working with our agencies to drive client growth in new business and client retention. A key objective to ensure the SVP drives innovation through commercial investment. Creating new opportunities for products that deliver to clients’ needs with data, pushing our current product suite to evolve and grow opportunity in market to ensure WPP Media continues to deliver best in class market making products that keep us at the forefront of innovation in media. Working alongside trading, solutions and agency teams is vital for success. They will be accountable for shaping how WPP Media delivers integrated value to its clients and partners, ensuring we show up consistently, competitively, and at scale. They will work with executive leadership, global product teams, regional commercial leads, and agency brand heads to build the frameworks, partnerships, and operating models that underpin commercial excellence across Media Solutions and Traditional Investment.
Overall Purpose:
To create a commercial connectivity between WPP Media and the Market, to maximise our media, data and tech impact to drive better client value and outcomes.
Skills and Experience
- 10+ years with commercial experience in Media, with proof points in Commercial Strategy and leadership
- Extensive media trading experience across multiple disciplines
- Superior experience and understanding of Digital Media, both from a media and technical perspective
- Strong relationships with senior personnel at major publishers, platforms and aggregators operating in the UK
- A strong market knowledge pov is important.
- Relationships and previous involvement with industry trade bodies
- An entrepreneurial attitude with an ability to recognise and develop new business strategies
- Strong attention to detail, extremely numerate with excellent organisational skills
- Ability to manage and deliver multiple projects to multiple deadlines simultaneously
