Role Summary and Impact
As Management Accountant, you will be responsible for delivering timely and relevant financial information to support internal decision‑making. You will support the Financial Controller with leading performance improvement across the agency in financial and operational processes and work closely together to build a best in class finance function at the heart of the agency. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Preparation and submission of annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts.
- Preparation and ownership of monthly profit and loss for multiple units, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Detailed variance analysis and commentary submission.
- Preparation of monthly payroll journals and subsequent salary reconciliation.
- Management and reconciliation of payroll control accounts.
- Identification, and billing, of inter-group recharges.
- Preparation and submission of quarterly reports as required by WPP Group, including Corporate Responsibility pack and Other Assets and Liabilities breakdown.
- Acting as the point of contact for VAT queries from the Group tax team.
- Booking of production, fee and ad-hoc charges to clients and group companies.
- Management of joint venture work in progress ledger and associated p&ls.
- Management of non-media related work in progress.
- Completion of quarterly returns for (B)ASBOF and National Statistics questionnaires.
- Supervising the Assistant Management Accountant and House Payables.
- Supporting the Financial Controller with ad-hoc information requests to assist with decision making.
- Assisting with the external audit.
Skills and Experience
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Prior experience in a Management Accountant role and month end close processes.
- Excellent communications skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
- Adaptable, organised and proactive.
- Knowledge of Mediaocean and SAP BFC an advantage.
