Role Summary and Impact
We are recruiting for a Head of Paid Social to drive excellence in social channels across the T&P network. This is a pivotal role in the agency and the person will define and lead the Paid Social offering across the wider T&P business as social investment continues to grow, as well as drive best practice process and operations. They will be responsible for driving increased knowledge and opportunities for our wider Integrated Performance Media team where all activation and planning experts are versed in cross channel capabilities across Paid Search, Paid Social and Programmatic. The growth and expansion of the Paid Social category means the Head of Paid Social will be needing to be on top of the regularly changing opportunities for clients, assisting teams in other markets are sufficiently skilled and working collaboratively to deliver best in class service to clients.
In addition to this, the Head of Paid Social has the responsibility of being our Performance Hub lead on our Worldwide Clients managed from London. This role connects the Head of Paid Social to clients and is the Performance sponsor for this set of clients, working closely with client leads and their direct team.
The Head of Paid Social is responsible for ‘owning’ the Social area of the digital function for the wider business and developing the offering over time. Working closely with the senior digital team, and the Chief Performance Officer, they will seek to bring thought leadership and innovation to our overarching digital output.

The Paid Social team is responsible for any and all output related to this discipline, including, strategy and planning, activation, reporting and optimisation, innovation, bringing new opportunities to our clients, points of view and thought leadership. This team is part of the integrated Performance team and works closely with other discipline leads, as well as the wider teams across the agency and the wider WPP Media paid social community.
Responsibilities:
●Managing and driving T&P’s narrative and approach to Paid Social, ensuring consistent best practice implementation
●Working with other practices to continually evolve and deploy the T&P &Social proposition to its maximum potential
●Leading and managing the Paid Social team in London, embedded personnel and providing support to Social leads in other markets as required
●Lead senior client conversations in Paid Social and showcase the strength of the offering to new and existing clients, demonstrate innovation and expert opinion to assist in driving client business forward
●Maintain a level of knowledge of the breadth and capability of the integrated Performance Media team across multiple markets, building a holistic picture of how and where we can fill skills gaps and improve our people
●Enable team members to collaborate effectively and share learnings and experience across integrated activity, primarily focusing on Paid Social
●Provide a view to the senior team of Paid Social services and capability on an on-going basis and recommend areas for improvement and development
●Use your expert knowledge to raise the profile of Paid Social at T&P and engage in external industry events as well as internal education of the wider teams
●Build out internal Paid Social processes and ensure these are rolled out worldwide, monitor and drive adoption of new processes
●Always be looking for new opportunities to engage new and existing clients
●Assist with pitch work where required
Skills and Experience
●A confident self-starter who is able to take initiative and act accordingly
●Comfortable in having autonomy and decision making
●Extensive knowledge of the paid social industry and the evolving trends
●Capable in talking about other performance channels (Paid Search, Programmatic, Retail Media) to help support and lead client relationships
●Knowledge and understanding of how creative delivers change and opportunity within Paid Social
●An effective leader and have extensive experience managing teams and different skillsets
●A motivator and positive role model for the teams, a strong advocate for T&P values
